Brad Bainey has
over thirty years of construction experience. During his career,
he has overseen projects which value over $800,000,000.00 many of
which were smaller projects valuing $1,000,000.00 or less. His
greatest accomplishments have been his involvement in the learning
& teaching of Total Quality Management & Continuous Improvement.
He grew up as the
oldest son of a general contractor from Pennsylvania. After the
sudden death of his father, he quit his studies in architecture to
assist in managing, and eventually selling, the family
construction business.
Brad went to work
for Lovering Associates in St. Paul, MN as a project manager. For
six years he was largely responsible for negotiating construction
work for local developers.
In 1978, he
accepted a position with Klodt Construction where he managed the
construction company. While with Klodt he built the Sheraton Park
Place Hotel, along with three office towers totaling 750,000
square feet.
In 1983, Brad
accepted a position as Vice President of Welsh Construction. He
became President and Chief Operating Officer in 1986. At Welsh, he
continued applying his knowledge of company-owned &
institutionally owned real estate. He was also a partner in the
development on many of his projects.
In 1987, while at
Welsh, he developed a company called PM Services of Minnesota,
Inc. That company is now called Facilitech, Inc. and they provide
facility services internally to Welsh-managed properties. In only
six years, this company grew from a small startup to a company
employing over 100 staff. In 1994, Brad resigned as President of
Welsh Construction; however, he remained as a consultant through
most of 1995.
In August of 1994
he started The Bainey Group, Inc. Brad sought to create a business
made up of associates who strive to provide clients with high
quality performance & service. Brad does not view financial profit
as the only way to view a business’s success. Instead, he views
success in terms of high levels of client and associate
satisfaction. Associates who have a sense of pride & happiness in
their career are more likely to provide high levels of customer
service and performance, creating client satisfaction. Satisfied
clients lead to referrals and repeat business, which help to grow
The Bainey Group, both financially & by reputation. In this way,
he pledged to treat his associates & clients with high levels of
respect.
Married to Angela
for thirty three years, Brad has three children ages 27 to 33 and
eight grandchildren. He enjoys outdoor physical activity and holds a
black stripe in Karate. Brad sat on two Boards with Hammer
Residences, an organization that provides homes for the
developmentally disabled. He also participated in their "Adopt A
Home" program and their "One-on-One" program where he spent time
with a Down syndrome resident. |
